To better understand attitudes about mass mobility, Time, in cooperation with Qualcomm, launched the Time Mobility Poll, a survey of close to 5,000 people of all age groups and income levels in eight countries: the U.S., the U.K., China, India, South Korea, South Africa, Indonesia and Brazil.

I’m sure there was some pretty decent buzz around fire, the wheel, and sliced bread. But wow, we are really attached to our mobile devices. About one in four people check their mobile phone at least once every thirty minutes. Three quarters of 25-29 year-olds sleep with their phones. Seventy-six percent of Americans think that being constantly connected is a mostly good thing - making us far less enthusiastic than our counterparts around the globe. And Brazilians really seem to know how to get the most out of a camera phone.
